2025 Blacksteel State of the Union Address

Hello Dear Reader! Welcome and Happy New Year!

It’s so wonderful to see you all! Thank you for joining me for our per annum state of the union address. I’m so happy you’re here because I’ve got a lot to share with you all.

Before we jump into new things, let’s take a look at everything we set out to accomplish in 2024 and whether we were able to follow through or not:

  • Dustin will continue work on the second book in his Sellsword Saga, following the story of Cas the Mercenary. (Also in Galhadria)

    • COMPLETE! Dustin finished his first draft of the second book in the Sellsword Saga, and is now working through the editing process. Nice work Dustin!

  • Phil’s will publish his debut fantasy novel, it will be available to read in ebook and physical formats.

  • Our very first adventure guide should be available sometime 1st or 2nd quarter of 2024. It is set in Vigabrock, the wild and savage country north of Aruthien.

  • We plan to sponsor our second publication project, another adventure guide for Galhadria.

    • In Progress! There were some unavoidable slow-downs on the layout side of things, but Dartak’s Gambit will be available on DriveThru RPG .com in 2025! Even better news, both Temple of Grimbog and Dartak’s gambit will be available in both 5E and Shadowdark modules!

  • Gaming convention attendance and networking.

  • Tiffani has embarked on her her new series, which takes place in Galhadria, and planed to have the first draft done by mid year.

    • IN PROGRESS: There was a lot of brainstorming, world building, and character development that went into this, but it is not quite as far along as I had hoped. I’ll be honest guys, this year kind of ate me alive. I am still working through the first draft, although I may change gears and try to finish up with the sequel to a Songbird’s Tale first before embarking on this new series. However, I did release two short stories related to A Songbird’s Tale; Of Silver Wolves and Songbirds, and I’m finishing up Of Dwarves and Dragons as we speak.

    • Tiffani was finalizing plans for production of the audio book of A Songbird’s Tale.

      • IN PROGRESS! My narrator had some unforeseeable events slow things down a tad bit, (like back-to-back hurricanes), but we are working towards a late January/early February 2025 release date. 🤞

We had some lofty goals and I would say that achieving more than half isn’t bad! Some of these delays have been completely out of our control. Can’t really do much when a natural disaster strikes, for example. But nearly everything that was in our control got finished and rolled out.

Even with that being said, for me personally, I really struggled this year with a lot of things, and did not get anywhere near as much writing done as I had hoped. I spent quite a lot of time managing the admin side of things and getting ready for Dragonsteel. My number one goal for 2025 is to WRITE, WRITE, WRITE! Speaking of goals, let’s take a look at what we aim to accomplish in 2025…

Blacksteel Press 2025 Goals:

  • Dustin plans to finish the first draft of Sellsword Saga Book 3.

  • Phil will finish the first draft Neversleep Scrolls Book 2.

  • Tiffani will finish the first draft Tales of Tigraen Book 2.

  • Tiffani (and hopefully Dustin and Phil) will attend Dragonsteel Nexus 2025 provided our application for a booth is approved.

  • Tiffani will release the audiobook version of A Songbird’s Tale, provided there are no more significant delays on the narrator’s end.

There you have it everyone! Here is what you can expect to see from us next year. We are super excited to bring you more stories and adventures in the world of Galhadria.
