Mercenary Measures

I’m working on finishing up the edit for book 2 of the Sellsword Saga - Mercenary Measures. I’m enjoying writing it - probably too much - and I’ll be glad to get this novel closed up and published because book 3 (Winding Divide) is demanding to be written and intruding upon my waking eyes … which is usually a sign there is a book in my head that is ready to get written down. The worst part is that I’m also seeing book 4, (Backhand Slash) and it’s also pushing for writer time … so I’ve got a lot to do!

I’ve written a tentative outline all the way out to book 7 (and yes, I have working titles for those too, but it seems far too premature to talk about those yet). This is the most ambitious writing project I’ve ever attempted … maybe one of the most ambitious life projects I’ve ever attempted. Other than getting married and raising kids, I can’t think of a longer commitment I’ve made than writing a giant book series.

Much to do, and I’m excited to do it. Our next book visits the busiest port in the world - Caladel, and if everything follows the outline (it doesn’t always) then we’ll also be visiting Cas’ homeland of Aruthien before kicking off book 4 - which takes us to the northern wilds of the Vigabrock. By the time book four completes, I think between Phil, Tiff and I we’ll have visited every major region of the continent of Nova Eian at least once.

There’s more to explore, and more stories to come!
