Now what?
Hello Dear Reader!
I very recently published my debut novel A Songbird’s Tale. Whew. What an accomplishment, two and half years, countless hours, edits, tears and triumphs later, it’s finally on the market.
So…. now what?
Now I have to devote a lot of time and energy to marketing. But that is not what this blog is about. This blog is about what to CREATE next.
I’m going to crack open my idea vault and share some ideas with you. I have several options. Frankly, I’m having a hard time choosing because I really want to do them all, right now, all at once. (Haha!)
Write a sequel. When I set out to write A Songbird’s Tale, I originally planned for it to be a stand-alone novel. But somewhere along the way, I think when one of my beta readers asked me when the next book was coming out, I realized I perhaps did have an idea for a sequel.
Write a new series (in Galhadria). I have an idea for a series that has been bouncing around in my head for quite some time and I think it’s time to put it down on paper. This series would be five books long and would follow an orphaned thief in the coastal country of Drialadon.
Write a short comic. I have also had the idea for a series of short stories that are dark retellings of fairy tales that I would like to make into comics and compile into an anthology called Dark Yarns.
Write a graphic novel. I also want to retell a classic Greek Mythology tale in a brand-new setting.
Host a writing contest. A few weeks ago I introduced Cthulhu Coffee. I actually think it would be really fun to host a writing contest and to see what stories people would come up with to go with all the flavors, but I have no idea how to go about it or if anyone would even be interested.
Write another stand-alone novel (in Galhadria) which takes place in Vigabrock and follows the story of a spell-singer entangled with a fey cursed bear totem.
I have about four or five more ideas I also want to write, but these seem to be the most promising. What do you think? Which one would you be most excited about seeing come to life next? I would love to know! Please help me decide!
Till next time dear reader, make sure you always keep a pen and notebook handy so you can write down all your fabulous ideas and build your very own idea vault. <3 Tiff
