A hard lesson in grammar.

Hello Dear Readers!

For those of you not lucky enough to follow me on Instagram, you will have missed my story regarding a most painful of grammar lessons. In order to help others avoid the same pitfall, but mostly for your entertainment, I present to you my grammar lesson, as told on my Instagram account:

*Caution, swear words ahead

Ah yes, making my way through the edits for my 2nd draft.

(I guess that technically means I’m on my third draft?)

“I can’t believe you would ever make such a foolish mistake,” said Jaren.

“In my defense, been a really long time since I’ve taken an English class,” I countered.

He scoffed. “That’s no excuse.”

“Come on, cut me even just a little slack?”

“No.” Jaren crossed his arms. “You should have done it right the first time.”

“Then you write it!” I shouted.

“What’s English?” asked Songbird.

*The theme here being that ? and ! are exceptions to the ,” rule. Because English isn’t hard enough as it is.

I like grammar, probably just a little bit more than your average person. I pride myself on knowing there vs their vs they’re. I adore oxford commas. But, oh man. This is like a whole new level. One I don’t love.

Yes.

A most painful of grammar lessons.

A very special thanks to Maryanna for helping me with this lesson.

The end.

Till next time dear readers, don’t take your grammar for granted and go thank an English teacher. <3 Tiff
